If you want a witness to speak at your hearing, like a neighbor or police officer, but are worried the witness may not go to the hearing, ask the clerk for a subpoena. A subpoena is a court order that says the witness must go to your hearing. You will have to get a marshal to serve the subpoena. You must go to the Clerk’s Office at least 2-3 days before your hearing to do this.
