Tell me what will happen after I get sued for a past due debt in summary court
When you are sued with a Summons and Complaint, the creditor wants to get a judgment against you for the amount due. This is different from an Affidavit and Complaint for Claim and Delivery of your household goods.
Listen to the audio below to find out what happens in a case when the creditor doesn't ask the court for an order to pick up your household property. In this case, the creditor is only seeking a judgment for the amount due.
The case is in the circuit court, but the same information applies with a Summons and Complaint for debt collection in summary court (magistrate court).
