How to Stop Your Landlord From Locking You Out Illegally
Steps you'll need to take
Step 2: Fill Out Court Forms
You will need to fill out these court forms
Please refer to the attached file for the following forms:
1. Ex Parte Petition for TRO/Injunction
2. TRO Against Illegal Lockout
3. Statement of Petitioner
4. Notice of Hearing
You will also need the following forms, which can be found at the Hawaii State Judiciary Website
http://www.courts.state.hi.us/self-help/landlord/forms/tenant_forms
5. Ex Parte Application for Relief from Costs (if you are unable to pay the filing fee, you may file this form to get it waived)
6. Return of Service
Fill out the court forms by either typing or printing very neatly in blank ink. Be sure that you sign and date all the documents where needed. If you miss any sections, the court may reject your forms and you will have to do them over again.
You may also use the interactive interview form that will assist you in filling out the court form. Please visit this website: https://lawhelpinteractive.org/Interview/GenerateInterview/5190/engine. Otherwise, click on the link below for a pdf file of the first four forms listed above.
