Divorce with Children - Plaintiff
Steps you'll need to take
6. Steps After Time to Answer Has Expired
Once the time for the Defendant to file an Answer has expired (see Step 4) and you've sent your Initial Disclosures to the Defendant, then several options exist to move your case forward to obtain a Decree of Divorce (meaning that your divorce is final). Read through the options below and select the one that best describes your situation:
1. Option A - If the Defendant filed an Answer OR an Answer and Counterclaim, and you both agree on all of the issues of your divorce, follow Option A.
2. Option B - If the Defendant did NOT file an Answer OR an Answer and Counterclaim, follow Option B.
3. Option C - If the Defendant filed an Answer OR an Answer and Counterclaim, and you DO NOT agree on all of the issues of your divorce, follow Option C.
